Festival 2025: Sightlines

Overview
In a city overflowing with spectacle, Sightlines will invite a slower kind of attention

The Open Eye Gallery is committed to showcasing and supporting as many of our Gallery artists annually as possible. This takes numerous forms, whether it be our annual Festive 'On a Small Scale' exhibition or mixed exhibitions supporting larger single artist shows.

This summer our Festival Exhibition focusses on showcasing a number of our artists in a curated exhibition titled 'Sightlines'.

The title, Sightlines, refers not only to the physical paths of vision, the angles and perspectives through which we view the world, but also to the unseen connections between subject and viewer, artist and place, moment and memory.

This curated exhibition will bring together gallery artists whose practice are rooted in observation, in the act of looking long enough to truly see. Whether capturing the fleeting shift of light, the quiet geometry of a composition, or the emotional weight of stillness, each work reflects a way of noticing that is deliberate, thoughtful and precise.

As we continue our support for Scottish Contemporary Arts we hope you will find time over the summer to support the Open Eye Gallery and our amazing artists.
