Philip Reeves RSA PRSW RGI RE (b.1931) is an English painter and printmaker living in Scotland. His abstract paintings, prints and mixed media pieces portray both the urban and rural environments in which he finds himself.

 

Philip Reeves studied at the Cheltenham School of Art and at the Royal College of Art, London before being appointed lecturer at Glasgow School of Art in 1954. In 1967 he founded the Edinburgh Printmakers, and was made Head of Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art in 1970, during which time he honed his skill, and expanded his media to include collage and construction. He has been extensively exhibited nationally with collections in the City Art Centre, the Royal Scottish Academy and the V&A Museum. His work can be found in many public and private collections in the UK.
