Natalie Vardey Jewellery

Natalie Vardey is a classically trained and versatile jeweller who works with fine silver and freshwater pearls. Vardey's most recent collection is titled 'Faded Glories' and is inspired by old stone walls in Cuba and Cape Verde.

Contrast of light and balance is the foundation of Natalie Vardey's jewellery, underpinned by an admiration for all the jewellers who worked before the invention of electricity.

Working with fine silver and freshwater pearls is central to Vardey's work but she embraces a range of different materials. In some, the wirework is a feature, in others the detail is in the perspective and contrast of the materials. This is emphasised with oxidised silver either matt black, burnished to gunmetal grey, or heavily textured. Some pieces are kinetic and in others the movement is just an illusion.
