Open Eye Gallery artist, Marj Bond, has released her first full length monograph, published by Sansom and Company. Featuring over 100 illustrations and with a text written by Martine F. Pugh, the book positions Bond’s travels to be the source of inspiration for her work from the 1960s to now. This rigorously researched study draws on hours of interviews with the artist and unrestricted access to her archives and studio.
Bond studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art before taking up teaching positions in the Outer Hebrides, Inverness and Perth. She travelled widely after graduation to Italy, India, Morocco, Spain and South America. Bond has exhibited regularly in the UK and abroad and has won many awards including the Anne Redpath Award, the Mondiale D’Estampes Etching Award and the Tyne Scholarship from the English Speaking Union. Her works are found in many public and private collections including the University of Edinburgh Collection, and the Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
The gallery has a limited stock of the book, priced at £30.00.
