Artist's Talk with Roland Fraser

Roland Fraser will give a talk on his exhibition of recent constructions on Saturday 21 July at 11am.

Fraser's wooden constructions are a synthesis of assemblage, collage and traditional craftsmanship. Using material sourced from old furniture, farm buildings and skips he chooses particular pieces with visible reference to the objects previous lives and history.  Selecting, editing and fusing these disparate elements into a composition that feels resolved represents the biggest challenge for Fraser, whose main concern is creating works which exemplify balance, tone and proportion.  This talk will offer insight into Fraser's working process and the inspiration behind his aesthetic.

To attend, please rsvp by emailing mail@openeyegallery.co.uk or by phoning 0131 557 1020. Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

Please note that this is an informal talk and seating will be very limited.
