Mette Fruergaard-Jensen
Mette Fruergaard-Jensen creates handmade vessels using copper, acrylic and ebonised oak. By heating copper, Fruergaard-Jensen is able to manipulate colours whilst patterns can be laid into the metallic surfaces. Fruergaard-Jensen's work pertains to the properties of materials and how they can develop when placed in contrast with others.
Born in 1948 in Denmark, Fruergaard-Jensen trained initially in pottery in Copenhagen but after moving to Scotland in 2000, she started to use industrial materials, making vessels in wood and copper.
