Jennifer Watt: Sculpture
Jennifer Watt creates sculptural works which evoke emotional response. Moved by simple forms, her sculptures are sincere in their form, material and surface. Modelling in stone, cement and clay the works are then cast in either bronze or resin. This exhibition features various works in Watt’s signature style depicting elongated figures, mothers and their children, interactions with nature, all representative of human life.
Jennifer Watt was born in Dumfries and graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. Her sculptural works consist of pieces in stone, cement and limited editions in bronze and resin. Jennifer has exhibited regularly at Visual Arts Scotland in Edinburgh where she won The Powderhall Bronze Award in 2007, The Society of Scottish Artists, The Royal Glasgow Institute, winning The Inverarity One to One Travel Award in 2010, The Paisley Art Institute, winning The West College Scotland Award for Sculpture 2014 and The By Distinction Art Award in 2015.
