Hilary Mayo: Journey Through A Landscape

Hilary Mayo is a ceramic artist that specialises in hand building techniques. Her making is an impressionistic response to place and experience. Working from photographs, memory and observed detail her current body of work is informed by the Icelandic landscape following recent visits. Constructed with finely rolled slabs of stoneware clay, the subtly manipulated walls form a canvas on which Mayo applies layer upon layer of glaze, oxide, or stain, with a brush, so that each piece is unique.

Hilary Mayo is a selected member of the Craft Potters Association, she has work in several private collections and has previously shown in numerous galleries in London.
