About the artist - Lara Scouller
Lara Scouller (b.1983) is an award winning Scottish artist who works in a variety of media including pastel and printmaking.
Scouller’s drawings portray the natural world at it’s most beautiful and vulnerable – from observing zoological museum specimens including birds with elaborate plumage, imposing elephants and rhinoceroses to working outdoors capturing the frenetic lives of a guillemot colony.
Scouller has received great acclaim since graduating from Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee in 2006. Prizes awarded for her drawings include: the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy John Kinross Scholarship to Florence in 2006, Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award in 2008, James Torrance Memorial Award presented at the 149th RGI Annual Exhibition in 2010, the Wates Foundation Diana Brooks Prize awarded by Art For Youth London in 2011, the Norma Frame Award presented at 151st RGI Annual Exhibition in 2011, the Pastel Society Young Artist Award awarded at the Pastel Society 114th Annual Exhibition, London in 2013 and the Seabird Drawing Bursary granted by the Society of Wildlife Artists in 2014.Sign up to our Lara Scouller mailing list
