Penny Withers: Ceramics
Penny Withers' landscape ceramics are thrown in white stoneware and flattened, with an added base. Layers of glaze are dipped, sprayed or poured over each other and they are fired in either oxidising or reduction kilns depending on the desired effect. By observing the way that glazes react together Withers has built up a collection of complimentary glazes to suggest atmospheric landscapes, open to individual interpretation.
